Speaking of 2008 - ring any bells? That's when we elected Obama, riding high on HOPE. But Pluto in Capricorn had other plans for our institutions. Instead of just progress, we got a front-row seat to America's shadowy underbelly. Here's the tea: America's birth chart has Pluto at 27° Capricorn. Translation? We're literally founded on power corruption (like you needed astrology to tell you that).

Fun fact: During Obama's election, Pluto was at 29° Sagittarius - a final push before entering Capricorn. Now we're at another critical 29° moment. The Trump Presidency feels grossly (and sadly) on brand for the Pluto in Cap era that has been excavating issues of power, historical structures, and just how shadowy patriarchal institutions are. The energy of the 29° degree is critical, reminding us that there is work to urgently be done before things are too late. As we learn our lessons from this era, and as the US recovers from showing her ass during this Pluto return, it would make sense to tie things up with our first female president. Mars opposing Pluto is URGING us to do by taking new action.

Ever notice how our presidential elections always land in Scorpio season? Scorpio - the sign of power, secrets, and what lurks beneath the surface - literally has us doing collective shadow work as we choose who runs our country. While we're voting, we're being forced to look at the subterranean structure of America itself - all the hidden power dynamics, corruptions, and systemic inequalities that usually stay buried.
