Guide to Eclipse Season: Spring 2025
Big picture overview and deep dive on 3/14/25 Virgo Eclipse
Ready or not, it’s ECLIPSE SEASON…
Blame it on Neptune transiting my MC, but I’ve been so caught up in my dreams and daily omens that I kiiinda forgot the eclipses were on our doorstep. And, as the memes say, there’s nothing like Daylight Saving Time during Pisces Season to remind you that time isn’t real.
Needless to say, this portal snuck up on me—despite my best intentions to give you ample support to prepare. But maybe that’s just part of the Aries medicine we’re collecting this year—throwing ourselves in, ready or not. We packed our bags (definitely with the wrong things), but who cares? We’re here. We’re alive. We’re ready to experience, to be foolish and joyful and a little lost. More on the Aries activation of 2025 later—but for now, let’s talk eclipses.
WTF even is an Eclipse?
Eclipses are not your average lunations. They arrive like fated turning points, speeding up timelines, exposing truths, and pushing us into major life shifts—whether we’re ready or not. Eclipses happen when the Sun, Moon, and Earth line up in a way that temporarily blocks light. There are two main types:
🌕 Lunar eclipses, like the March 14th Eclipse in Virgo, are moments of revelation. What has been lurking beneath the surface rises up, demanding to be seen. New pathways appear—some liberating, some challenging—but none of them leave things the same. What was hidden is now undeniable, whether it’s an unspoken truth, a long-buried emotion, or a realization you can’t ignore any longer. Lunar eclipses happen when the Earth moves between the Sun and Moon, blocking out the Moon’s light. If the Sun represents clarity and consciousness, and the Moon represents emotion and intuition, then this is the past being obscured by the present. We aren’t just processing what’s in front of us—we’re feeling the weight of everything that has led us here. Emotional healing is major under a lunar eclipse. These eclipses were seen as terrifying omens by ancients peoples, which is VERYYY understandable. I mean c’mon bro imagine looking up and seeing the Moon turn blood red. The energy they invoke is overwhelming—wired yet tired, restless yet drained. Psychic sensitivity spikes and intuitive hits come in strong as you are called to nourish your inner Moon. Rest, tend to your emotions, and honor what is surfacing. Lunar eclipses push us towards endings, ready or not. Whether that means releasing a pattern, closing a chapter, or embracing a truth you’ve been avoiding, this is a moment of no return. What is revealed now can’t be unseen. The best thing you can do? Let it unfold. And this particular lunar eclipse? It’s in Virgo, the sign of refinement, clarity, and meticulous discernment. Expect it to bring sharp awareness around what needs to be cleaned up, corrected, or completely released. What isn’t working will be glaringly obvious.
🌑 Solar eclipses, like the March 29th eclipse in Aries, happen during a New Moon and act as dramatic reset buttons, bringing transformation that often feels abrupt or unavoidable. They mark the end of one cycle and the beginning of another, often through external shifts—changes set into motion by outside forces, other people, or circumstances beyond our control. But even though solar eclipses can present external, the Moon is literally obstructing the Sun, meaning insights emerge from a more "lunar" place. The conscious mind (the Sun) is temporarily dimmed, making space for deeper intuition, subconscious nudges, and inner knowing to surface. Some say that during a solar eclipse, the present is obscured by the past—old memories, patterns, and unresolved stories may resurface, influencing how we see the path ahead. Consciousness itself is altered. The energy of a solar eclipse can be exciting, disorienting, or completely destabilizing, depending on what it activates in your life and chart. Throughout history, solar eclipses were seen as powerful omens—the sudden disappearance of the Sun, the great life-giver, plunging the world into temporary darkness. Understandable that people freaked out! It can feel like a moment of uncertainty, but it’s also a threshold—one that pushes you into the next chapter before you have time to second-guess it. And this particular solar eclipse? It’s at 0° Aries, the very first degree of the zodiac, giving us a total reboot of how we take action, assert ourselves, and carve our path forward. If there was ever an eclipse to light the match on something completely new, it’s this one. It’s also the final eclipse in the Aries-Libra axis, marking the culmination and ripening of everything you’ve been learning in your Aries + Libra houses since 2023. Something is beginning. The only question is: are you willing to step into it?
March 14, 2025 - Lunar Eclipse in Virgo
Let’s talk about March 14, 2025—the first eclipse of the year. This Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 23° Virgo brings us to a crossroads on the Virgo-Pisces axis, highlighting the push and pull between structure and surrender, working and dreaming, logic and intuition. Virgo is meticulous, craving clarity and order, while Pisces dissolves boundaries, reminding us that not everything can—or should—be controlled. This eclipse asks: Where are you gripping too tightly, and where are you slipping through your own fingers?
Adding to the dreamlike quality, this eclipse sits close to Neptune, giving everything a hazy, romantic, slightly surreal filter. Neptune doesn’t deal in hard facts or linear progress—it moves through intuition, emotion, and symbolism. Clarity may feel out of reach, but that doesn’t mean the insights coming through aren’t real. Some truths arrive as feelings before they become words. This is a time to trust your inner knowing, even if the path ahead isn’t fully visible yet.
And if that weren’t enough? This eclipse is also tangled up with Saturn and Uranus, two planets that couldn’t be more opposite in their approach. Saturn enforces limits and structure, while Uranus disrupts and innovates. This creates a tension zone between what needs to be stabilized and what needs to be revolutionized. Some systems in your life might be up for review—some will be reinforced, while others may crack under the pressure of change. If something falls away now, trust that it was never meant to last.
Since this is eclipse season, expect things to unfold at a rapid pace. If life feels like it’s rearranging itself, that’s because it is.
What Does This Season Mean for You?
Because ALL eclipses happen along the North and South Nodes, they always arrive with a sense of fate. They shift our collective and personal stories in ways that feel bigger than our usual lunations—like a plot twist you didn’t see coming, but in hindsight, was always meant to happen. And that’s because eclipses don’t work on normal time. We’re pretty comfortable with the six-month lunar cycle, watching something unfold from New Moon to Full Moon. But eclipses? They operate on extraordinarily big-picture time—like, not even a “give me your five-year plan” type of big. THINK BIGGER. The exist within a construct of time know as the Saros Cycle.
Eclipses are part of Saros Series, essentially they are part of families that repeat every 18-19 years. If you want to get a sense of what this eclipse might mean for you, look back to 2006-2007. That same eclipse family is back, unfolding a new chapter in the same long-term story.
But we also have a 9-10 year midpoint mirror. Every 9-10 years, we get eclipses in the same signs, but flipped—meaning the North and South Nodes have swapped places. This brings the same themes back, but from the opposite perspective. So you can also look back to 2015 - feb 2017 for insights
✨ Key Timelines to Revisit this Spring:
2006-2007 → (Last time we had Pisces North Node, Virgo South Node eclipses)
2015– early 2017 → (Midpoint mirror, similar themes to now but different perspective with the Virgo North Node and Pisces South Node)
2023 - Now → (Most recent Aries-Libra eclipse cycle—what began in the last year and half is now reaching a turning point)
September 2024 → (When this current Pisces-Virgo series began. Any notable happenings or themes that began at this time?)
BUT WHAT DO I DO?
Surrender. Rest. Witness.
Eat grounding foods—I’m talking root veggies, potatoes. Yes, my professional advice is to eat those potatoes!
I’m very anti-manifestation magick during eclipse season. Not all witches feel this way, so you do you, boo, but I’m not out here pretending I know how to leverage a Saros Cycle, brooo.
If you have Pisces, Virgo, or Aries placements, you’re going to feel this season in a big way. So are my fellow mutable friends with Sagittarius and Gemini placements. But let’s be real—we’re ALL feeling it.
The best thing you can do? Ground yourself. Nourish yourself. Find home in your routines. Give extra grace to yourself and others. Welcome the unknown like an old friend. Take naps. Timeline jumping that you didn’t exactly sign up for is exhausting, especially when we just lost an hour of sleep! Cleanse your body, home and/or spirit by taking a salt bath, lighting candles or doing a simple simmer pot. Please take care of yourselves.
