If Pisces season felt like you were suspended in time swimming through a bottle of champagne fermented from your own tears, this Aries season feels like running through the airport when you have 7 minutes to get to your flight with 3 bags in tow and somehow YOU MAKE IT, only to board and have to deplane due to technical difficulty. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, a cardinal fire sign represented by the ram and ruled by Mars. Aries is the match, the spark, the warrior, the fool heading out on their journey. Mars is the god of war and rules over action, fighting, and sex in astrology. This season is all about pushing up through the metaphorical dirt which takes tenacity, courage, bravery, a dash of naivete, and a hint of brashness.
HOWEVER, despite how hard the ram is trying to push us forward and reignite our action and passion with this seasonal turn, the planets aren’t quite in alignment with Mar’s need for speed this Aries season. So if things are feeling a bit dissonant as we frolic into Spring, here is why…
1. As I mentioned earlier, Aries is ruled by Mars. Mars desires to move things forward, get in a few fights and make shit happen at any cost. But for the majority of Aries season, Mars is in dreamy Pisces. This is great for imagination, creativity, and daydreaming but not so great for moving at the rampant pace Mars desires. Let’s put it like this - you may need to set timers to stay on task during this Mars transit. Mars in Pisces can offer excellent creative and alternative solutions to the task at hand. In Pisces, Mars is the PEACEFUL WARRIOR, opening our hearts to compassionate action and solutions. Mars will link up with both Saturn and Neptune during Aries season, perpetuating some of the fogginess and boundary learning we experienced in Pisces season.
2. As you may know, Aries season also ushers in ECLIPSE SEASON. We will have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 5° Libra on Monday, March 25th, and a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 19° Aries on Monday, April 8th. Eclipses are wildly powerful moments that reorient us to our purpose or fate - without any action required. Sometimes it’s rejuvenating, sometimes it’s uncomfortable. What was going on in your life in April and October 2023? Specifically the week around April 20 and October 14? That was when the first series of ARIES - LIBRA eclipses occurred, which opened up themes and stories that will pick back up this month. This eclipse series is all about balancing ME (aries) vs. WE (libra) and impulse (aries) vs. discernment (libra).
I’ll get into the specifics of the Libra Lunar Eclipse below and details on the Aries Solar Eclipse will come out closer to April 8th. The big thing to know is eclipses are a time of WITNESSING. I highly discourage doing any magical work or manifesting during eclipse season. With eclipses, the chips are going to fall as they may, and trying to interject generally leads to chaotic outcomes. So what can you do?
Reflect back on what was going on in your life in October 2013, April + October 2014, and April + September 2015. This is the last time we had eclipses in Aries and Libra (flipped from where they are now) so you may see similar themes appearing but you have likely gained a new perspective. My favorite way to work with eclipses is this sort of time travel, it can be wildly illuminating!
Light a candle and ask your team for support and grace during the eclipse season
Take a cleansing salt bath
Drink lots of water
Try out some breathwork or meditation
Cardinal placements (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn) will be most affected by these eclipses but we will ALL feel them. Be kind to yourself and others - with such a focus on how we all relate, this is a reminder to give one another grace and space as we move through this portal.
3. Mercury Retrograde beings APRIL 1st (a cosmic April Fools?) dead in the middle of eclipse season - LFG! Or rather, LFC (lets fucking chill). This transit puts a major dampener on Aries desire to keeps things moving forward. Mercury in Aries is here for the argument and fiery debates, but this retrograde asks you to think before speaking. Expect delays and technical difficulties, so be sure to build in extra time and extend grace to your fellow humans. This transit gets so much bad hype on the internet, but it’s actually quite useful and necessary (as long as you aren’t falling for those DM’s from your ex…). Tap into the RE words - reflect, revise, rethink, rejuvenate, recalibrate, reset - to take full advantage. Mercury goes direct April 25th but will be in it’s “retro-shade” period through May 13th, so expect the retogradyness to subside after that.
Okay, here are the deets on the March 25th Libra Eclipse. This moment is calling back to September 2015. What was going on in your life at that time, especially related to :
compromising in relationships
pursuing your passions
autonomy and authenticity
balancing your needs with the needs of your close people
really anything relationship-oriented
How have you grown since then and what new perspective do you have now that you are 9 years the wiser? What has changed, what has stayed the same, and is there anything you can learn from past you to support current you?
The ruler of this Libra Full Moon is Venus, who is hanging out with Saturn in the mystical sign of Pisces. You may find one or more of the following themes illuminated for you at this time:
needing compassionate boundaries in relationships
discipline in your finances or your creativity
commitment to yourself, a romantic relationship, your creativity, or your finances
worthiness and self-esteem
This is just part 1 of this season’s eclipses, so hold on, WITNESS, take notes, breathe deeply, and take good care. Once we move through the next eclipse on April 8th, the pieces will start to come together more clearly.

Such a good overview Lily! Holy moly. I got married to my ex in September 2015 and the axis of me/we is feeling hella lit up again. Soo real! Thanks for writing 💗
