I want you to close your eyes and do a little time travel with me. Ok? Think back to December 30th, 2024. What were you dreaming of? What were you building toward? What hopes and dreams and desires did your body carry before our nervous systems were thrown into the absolute mania that has been 2025? I ask because that was when we sat in the hopeful dark under the Capricorn New Moon. And here we are, 6 months later, basking in the light of the Capricorn Full Moon with new eyes, hopes and fears.
What has come to fruition and what has completely, absolutely, entirely evolved, changed, or fallen away from your original vision, from you being, from your conscious and subconscious bodies since then?
This Full Moon is referred to as “Buck Moon” named for the time when deer shed their old antlers and grow magnificent new ones. How perfect is that metaphor for where we are right now? Just like those deer, we're in a process of releasing what we've outgrown and sprouting something entirely new. What old version of "making it" are you ready to shed? What new definition of success wants to grow in its place?
This is an excellent moment for a half-year check-in. (Even though time isn't real and I despise the Gregorian calendar, but alas, sometimes we gotta bend to the structure we're stuck in to exist outside of it.) Let's do a quick inventory and acknowledgment because, honey, you've been through some THINGS. We all have.
What has come to fruition in your life since that New Moon in December 2024?
What did you wish for that actually happened?
What surprised the hell out of you and changed your whole trajectory?
What shifted you in ways you never saw coming?
What has completely changed course?
How has your perspective shifted? Maybe the route you thought you needed to take transformed from a sweaty, relentless mountain climb to a leisurely float down the river? Or perhaps you realized you were climbing the wrong damn mountain entirely?
This Full Moon is giving us a renewal of direction, a push toward rapidly changing dreams, but also a necessity to let go of outdated perfectionism when pursuing our goals. Something is rapidly coming through, and in order to execute it, there are some ideas around completion (complete doesn't mean perfect!) that need to be released or updated.
As you may know, Capricorn is ruled by Big Daddy Saturn (my guuuuyyyy!) who really just wants you to succeed. That’s kinda Saturns who shtick. Which means this particular Full Moon is reporting in for duty to SATURN IN ARIES who is currently conjunct NEPTUNE IN ARIES. Capricorn may love trad things (hi, patriarchy and capitalism lol) buuuut Saturn + Neptune in Aries is forcing us to dream up new, individualistic definitions of success that break form from convention and tradition. These two are asking you to turn up the cuntiness, hunty. And TBH with Venus dancing alongside Uranus in Gemini, our entire value system is getting a revolutionary makeover. We're not just changing what we want, we're changing what we find inherently valuable and worth pursuing. This Full Moon is asking us to allow space for new definitions to emerge and old definitions to be burnt, baby.
This is the era of betting on ourselves and our own vision of what matters. Not your parents version of success, not capitalism's version, not even your own outdated version from six months ago. YOUR version. The one that's been persistently and maybe painfully growing, like new antlers.
I'm thinking about all the recent trades I've made with other artisans - trading jewelry for handmade body oil, trading astro readings for magickal anointments. Success looks SO many ways outside of capitalistic constraints, and Saturn conjunct Neptune in Aries is helping us dream up new, individualistic definitions of success that break free from convention and tradition.
It’s time to get honest about whether your current definition of success is actually serving you or if it's just serving the machine. Time to place your bet on the person you're becoming, not the person you think you should be.
Petition Box Magic✨
This Capricorn Full Moon is calling for some practical magic, so I'm charming a petition box. Shoutout to Angelica Cresci for inspiring this because honestly, my petition papers needed a proper home. I bet yours do too. 😉
First, WTF is a Petition?
A petition, in magical terms, is basically a formal written request to the universe, your deities, ancestors, or whatever divine forces you work with. When we write down something we want to manifest, that is a petition. If you have a practice that involves working with the lunar cycle, you probably have a million of these little notes lying around your space and THEY NEED A HOME. THEY NEED A CHANCE TO FRUIT. So, let's build something that's both magical AND practical (very Capricorn, baby).
Creating Your Petition Box Ritual
What You'll Need:
A vessel (anything from a box to a bowl or a shoebox. This vessel can be literally anything that speaks to you, just make sure you can dedicate it to its new job)
Herbs or plants related to success, completion, or fruition (chamomile, basil, calendula, pine, or any flowers you correlate with growth)
A black stone (obsidian, onyx, black tourmaline or whatever's in your collection)
Find your vessel :This can be anything that feels right. Maybe it's a vintage wooden box you thrifted, a ceramic bowl your grandma gave you, or a shoebox you've covered in magazine cutouts and glitter.
Cleanse it: However you prefer to cleanse magical items. Smoke, prayers, sound… you know what works for you.
Decorate as you see fit: This is where you can get creative. Paint it, bedazzle it, leave it beautifully simple. Maybe you add a protection sigil or sigil you design intended for fruition. This is YOUR magickal tool, do your thing baby!
Fill it with plants and stones: This is inviting in the energy of growth but also protection. Then kiss the vessel to awaken it with your energy.
Speak your intention into the box 8 times: Since Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, you're going to speak the below incantation (edit to make it personal if you desire) into your box exactly 8 times. 8 is Saturn's number and associated with mastery and success.
"May all intentions, wishes, dreams, hopes, and petitions placed in this vessel by me be protected from any ill and come to fruition from the astral to the physical for my highest good with deep ease.”
Speak it 8 times and after the 8th time finish with: “So mote it be and so it is."
Remove the plants and stones by July 17th: You can do this ritual any time between now and then, it will just affect how long you leave the plants and stones inside.
Now that you've created this enchanted receptacle, here's how to work with it:
When you are writing petitions (manifestations, desires, asking for help for whatever it may be) fold them and place them in your box. When a petition comes to fruition (and they will bb!), remove that specific piece of paper from your box. You've got options for how to release it with gratitude:
Burn it as an offering of thanks to whatever forces helped you
Bury it in your garden or a special outdoor spot
Keep it in a separate "manifestation success" collection if you're the type of witch who likes to track your magickal wins
Some petitions are more like energetic anchors. Things like "help me stay aligned with my authentic path" or "support my creative flow." These can live in your box for as long as they feel active and relevant. During major astrological shifts (like eclipses, Saturn returns, etc), review your petition box. Remove anything that feels stagnant, outdated, or no longer aligned with your growth. Your dreams are allowed to (and should) evolve!
I will leave you with some additional questions for reflection under this Full Moon:
What structures in my life are actually supporting my growth, and which ones are just familiar prisons?
How has my definition of success evolved since December, and what new version wants to emerge?
What am I ready to release that I've been holding onto out of stubbornness rather than love?
Where have I been my own worst authority figure, and how can I start being a better leader to myself?
What's one thing I've been "perfecting" that's actually ready to be shared with the world?
How can my version of "making it" actually benefit the collective rather than just my individual bank account?
This lunation is asking you to get honest about where you are, celebrate how far you've come, and build some magickal infrastructure to support where you're going next. Because if 2025 has taught us anything, it's that our old maps don't work anymore. Time to chart some new territory.✨
