In the wee hours of Saturday, March 29th (4:58 am MST to be specific - yes I know, astrology really has zero respect for our sleep schedules), we welcome our FINAL eclipse in the Aries-Libra axis. This celestial drama has been unfolding since March 20, 2023, and honey, we're finally at the season finale. And just like any good finale, expect plot twists, ahhhh-HA moments, and maybe a few tears (of both the sad and happy variety). Now with this happening in Aries, the sign of the self, I’m fully expecting some serious identity upgrades across the board.
The general vibe is dumping your whole purse out on the table - there's receipts from 2023, half-eaten mints, and SO much random trash you didn't even know was in there... but wait, there's that fantastic perfume you thought you lost forever and OMG that $20 bill you forgot about! Eclipse energy is chaotic, messy, and ultimately clearing space for the good stuff that's meant to be there.
Solar eclipses happen during a New Moon when the Moon gets all bold and blocks out the Sun's light. Rude, but effective. Throughout history, solar eclipses were seen as powerful omen. Can you imagine…the sudden disappearance of the Sun, the great life-giver, plunging the world into temporary darkness?! Like yeah, I would freak out too. Astrologically, they are big, red reset buttons, bringing transformation that often feels abrupt or unavoidable. Hindsight is 20/20 with eclipses.
New Moons are typically "new beginnings, fresh starts, plant your seeds" moments, but eclipses? Eclipses are New Moons with roid rage. And this particular solar eclipse? It's at 9° Aries, in the very first decan of the zodiac, giving us a total reboot of how we take action, assert ourselves, and carve our path forward. It's also the final eclipse in the Aries-Libra axis, marking the culmination and ripening of everything you've been learning in your Aries (self) + Libra (other) houses since 2023.
Something is beginning. The only question is: are you willing to step into it?
The First Decan of Aries is RIPE AF
Now, eclipses generally happen right on top of the Nodes of Destiny, but this one is what we call “out of bounds” - aka although the Nodes are in Pisces-Virgo right now, this is happening in Aries. You're going to hear aaaaall kinds of things across the astro-internet about what you should and shouldn't do under an eclipse. "Don't manifest!" "Don't do magick!" "Hide under your bed with crystals!" (I explained the way behind this and the whole Saros Cycle and Nodes of Destiny thing in my "Guide to Eclipse Season: Spring 2025"), buuuut, but, I think we all could use a little magick right now. The vibes have been le trash, and this rebel eclipse is practically begging us to do a little something something. I usually light a grounding candle and take a bath at the MAXIMUM under eclipse, but I’m going to be sharing ideas for a bit more than that. I’m still hesitant to manifest, but you should use your own magical discretion on this.
Okay, I know some of you are still muttering to yourselves “WTF is a decan?” A little astro education moment: decans are an ancient subdivision of the zodiac signs into three 10° sections, giving additional color and flavor to a sign. Side note, if you have never truly felt like your sun sign (I hear this a lot) look into what decan of the sign you are in, so much flavor is added! Each decan has its own secondary planetary ruler, helping astrologers provide a fuller interpretation of each sign. The first decan of Aries (0-9°) is doubly ruled by Mars, making it the most quintessentially “Aries” expression of the sign. This part of Aries embodies boldness, impulse and a pioneering and trailblazing spirit.
Spring 2025 has been (and will continue to) light up the first decan of Aries over and over, trying to bring something alive in this part of our charts. This eclipse is inextricably linked to Mercury Retrograde's current chaotic unraveling, as Mercury stationed retrograde at 9° Aries, the same degree this eclipse is at. Venus Retrograde will be sashaying over this point multiple times, and soon Saturn and Neptune will also be hanging out in the first decan of Aries.
SoOoOo, what is IT that this Aries Archetype is trying to show you, teach you, embolden you to be? Something serious is brewing in this part of your chart and is about to reach peak ripeness level as we travel through the eclipse portal. There's a storyline trying to break through, something ready for harvest in this area of your life. This eclipse might just deliver that "HOLY SHIT, NOW I SEE IT" moment you've been waiting for.
In tarot, this decan connects to the Two of Wands - a card about standing at a crossroads between the familiar and the unknown. It suggests that while everything might look perfect on the surface, inner changes have been brewing for some time. Sound like your current situation? Perhaps your inner fire has been dimming, and you're craving renewal, fresh scenery, or a complete vibe shift.A new world is calling your fucking name, bb, and it's time to confidently step forward into what's next!
Perhaps your inner fire has been dimming lately, your passion reduced to embers. Maybe you've been playing small, sticking with what's comfortable rather than what truly lights you up. This eclipse is offering a fresh spark, a chance to reignite what's been smoldering within you. Whether it's a renewed sense of purpose, a creative revolution, or a total personal rebrand - the Two of Wands supports bold new beginnings that honor both where you've been and where you're headed

Eclipse Ritual & Tarot Spread
Candle Scrying Ritual
This is a beautiful way to receive messages from the eclipse energy. You'll need:
A white or red candle (red for that Aries fire energy if you're feeling spicy)
A quiet, darkened space where no one will bother you for 15 mins
Journal and pen for the inevitable downloads
Steps:
Find a quiet space where your pets/kids/partners won't interrupt your witchy business.
Light your candle and place it safely on a surface (fire safety is sexy).
Dim the lights - we're going for mystic vibes, not interrogation room.
Get comfy and take 3 deep breaths (the kind that fill your belly, not those shallow anxious ones).
Gaze softly at the candle flame (don't stare like a creep or strain your eyes).
Let your vision get all soft and dreamy as you watch the flame dance.
Notice any images, symbols, or impressions that form in or around the flame. Trust whatever weird shit comes through.
After 5-10 minutes, close your eyes, take a deep breath, and journal about what you saw or felt. No editing, no judging - just raw, oracular data.
Tarot Spread
This eclipse is connected to the Two of Wands, which is all about standing at the threshold between what's known and what's possible. For this spread, we're going to pull the Two of Wands out of the deck first as your anchor card, and then build a spread around it to help you navigate this eclipse portal.
What you'll need:
Your tarot deck
Journal and pen
A quiet space
Optional: a red or orange candle to represent that Aries fire energy
Set Up:
Find the Two of Wands in your deck and place it face up in the center of your space.
Shuffle the remaining cards while focusing on the questions below and pull cards for each position
Card 1 (Place above the Two of Wands): What am I being asked to boldly initiate?
Card 2 (Place to the left of the Two of Wands): What familiar territory am I being asked to leave behind?
Card 3 (Place to the right of the Two of Wands): What new territory am I being invited to explore?
Card 4 (Place below the Two of Wands): What inner resources will help me make this transition?
Card 5 (Place diagonally above the Two of Wands): What might I discover if I take this leap?
When you're done, sit with the full spread for a few minutes. Notice any patterns, colors, or elements that appear multiple times. Write down your impressions and insights in your journal. Bonus: After completing your reading, keep the Two of Wands on your altar, supporting you to be courageous as you take new initiative.
Eclipse Journal Prompts
Grab your journal, light a candle if you're feeling extra witchy, and dive into these prompts to help you process and work with this Aries eclipse energy:
What have I been wanting to initiate but have been too scared, too practical, or too cautious to begin? What would happen if I just fucking went for it?
How has my sense of self evolved since March 2023 when this eclipse story began? Who am I becoming now?
How have my relationships evolved since March 2023? How has the negotiation between self and other changed?
Where in my life do I need more courage, passion, or assertiveness?
What surprising patterns or themes have emerged during this eclipse cycle that I didn't expect? What's the wisdom in these unexpected developments?
What part of my "inner child" or past self is asking to be seen, integrated, or honored? What does that part of me need right now?
However this eclipse energy finds you, I’m sending you big hugs and a toast to the you that you are becoming. If things are feeling too intense, it's absolutely okay to rest, take a bath, binge-watch that comfort show, or simply observe rather than actively engage. Do what feels like the highest level of care at this time! XOXO, Lily 💋
This was perfect
Hmm. Aries is 12th house. 9 Aries is also my North Node. And this week gave me absolute clarity that divorce is the only sane option left for me. LFG!
