This Week in the Stars 6.2.25. - 6.9.25
Venus in Taurus, Mercury in Cancer, Jupiter in Cancer...OH MY!
I'm currently in my 12th House Season and i am FEELINGGG it. After doing ALL.THE.THINGS and traveling back-to-back I'm sick and forced to retreat, I'm witnessing some moments of un-doing and am deeply evaluating the behind-the-scenes of my life. All that to say, that's why there was no THIS WEEK IN THE STARS last week. Cause we all need a few mental health days here and there. Shout out to my fellow Cancer Risings who are also navigating their 12th House Seasons. Before diving into all that lies ahead of this week - headlines being VENUS ENTERING TAURUS and JUPITER ENTERING CANCER 😍 - I want to share a few thoughts and echo some sentiments I've seen floating around about Pride Month correlating with Gemini Season. You may have noticed when I write about Mercury I always refer to them as they/them because it is a non-binary planet in all senses of binary. Mercury refuses every categorization astrology tries to impose. In Hellenistic Astrology, they're neither day nor night sect, they're neither benefic or malefic. In mythology, Mercury/Hermes was the psychopomp - the one deity who could licherallly move between the world of the living and the dead, the only deity who could cross those boundaries unscathed. They exist in the liminal spaces, in the in-between, in the places where other planets can't or won't go. They're the ultimate boundary crosser, the shapeshifter, the one who dares to be ALL things. SO, OF COURSE Pride Month happens under a Mercury-ruled sky. OF COURSE the celebration of queerness in all its forms happens during Gemini season when the planet that embodies "fuck your binaries" is running the show. Mercury has been showing us for millennia that there's always another option, always an in-between, always something more interesting than the either/or we've been handed.
I’m wishing everyone a safe and Happy Pride Month, and also offering a Mercurial call-to-action to all my fellow allies...
With Mercury ruling communication, thoughts, conversation - the very planet that refuses to be anything other than authentically, unapologetically themselves - we are being called to embody that same energy. To SPEAK UP. To be LOUD. The government is attacking the existence of our LGBTQ+ community, trying to force everyone into stupid binaries when Mercury has shown us for millennia that the most powerful magick happens in the spaces between.
Our voices are Mercury's domain. And right now, Mercury needs us to use those gifts not just to understand and celebrate, but to defend the right for everyone to exist in their full, uncategorized, beautifully complex truth.
