On February 24th at 5:31 am MST the Moon in Virgo will oppose the Sun in Pisces. This Full Moon will be closing out a cycle or storyline that began in September 2023 with the New Moon in Virgo. Some thoughts that may be arising and are worth considering at this time:
Over the last 6 months, what has unfolded?
Have you achieved what you set out to do?
Where have you found more sovereignty?
Where do you need more sovereignty?
Where are you being overly critical?
Full Moons are a time of culmination and a moment of new and fresh perspective. What is being illuminated at this time to ultimately heal? Saturn’s involvement in this Full Moon chart may have you feeling hypercritical of yourself. Virgo is a sign that can overdo the self-criticism, so pay attention to your internal dialogue at this time. This Moon is an opportunity to release the old and negative stories you tell yourself. Saturn wants you to succeed, all the hard work and dedication he asks of you is for your own benefit. Saturn in Pisces is teaching us to approach boundaries and discipline with compassion. This Full Moon is illuminating where some hard work or new boundaries may be needed to fulfill your dreams and ambitions.
The ruler of this Full Moon is Mercury, the planet of communication, divination and the mind, who is currently in the deep waters of Pisces. There is so much within this Full Moon chart reminding us of the power of words. They call it SPELLing for a reason, our words are wands. ABRACADABRA quite literally means “I WILL CREATE AS I SPEAK.” Your words, what you say to yourself, what you write in your journal - they are POWERFUL spells, my friends. Pay mind!
We have Venus just separating from Mars in Aquarius in this chart, making a square to Jupiter. Venus + Mars in Aquarius are offering you a new approach or a new direction. Is there something in your life that you are ready to initiate with a refreshed, unique, or unconventional perspective? You are being urged to look at what it is you TRULY desire and to take action towards said desire.
This is the last Full Moon we will have before Eclipse Season. As you may know, I do not recommend magical workings during Eclipse Season (what will be will be during Eclipse Season, and messing with that generally just leads to chaos). This Full Moon is a great time to RELEASE anything you do not want to bring forward with you. The Virgo-Pisces axis is ultra-magical and is all about connecting the thread between the physical and the astral, the mundane and the extraordinary, the esoteric and exoteric. Needless to say, it’s a beautiful time for ritual, magic, and healing. I’ll just note there is an extra emphasis on healing this Full Moon thanks to Chiron, the wounded healer, linking up with the North Node, the wish bringer.
Here are a few ritual suggestions:
1. Cord Cutting
It’s an ideal time to sever the energetic cords between yourself and people who no longer resonate with or support you, old versions of self that no longer align, or habits (like negative self-talk). My favorite way to do this is in the bathtub (which is perfect for Pisces season) but you could certainly do this without water too. This can be as long or as short as you would like but here is the gist of the meditation:
Imagine yourself sitting in the balcony of a theater looking down at a stage. You are going to call to the stage the thing you would like to cut cords from. Ask for the cords to be revealed and notice where they attach into you and what they are made of. Call on Saturn to come in with a big pair of scissors to chop- chop those cords. Wherever the cords were attached to your body, if you are in the tub, take a mixture of water and bentonite clay and fill in the “holes” on your actual physical body while imagining that you are planting flowers of your OWN energy as your rub the mixture over your body. In your meditative state, you can watch the flowers bloom out of the places where the cords once were. You may ask the thing you cut cords from to leave in peace and state aloud that you are now free and clear of attachment in all realms and timelines. Take a moment to bask in your own perfect energy.
2. Create an affirming incantation Spend some time with yourself and consider where you are being overly critical of yourself. What criticism can be thrown away because it is simply too harsh and what can be transformed into compassionate discipline? Write about this in your journal and see what comes up and what words emerge. We are looking for encouragement that will help us stay on task as we move towards our heart desires. For example, I am overly critical of not doing enough with my time. I have some seriously bad self-talk around this and it ultimately paralyzes me from completing my creative projects. The affirmation/incantation I wrote for myself is:
Time is my friend. To my creativity, there is no end. I am in alignment with my desires and am open to the magic they inspire. Abracadabra.
I will be working with this affirmation by speaking it aloud to myself because our words are wands!
3. Tarot/Oracle Pull
This Full Moon is pretty much begging you to pull out your divination tools. Grab your favorite deck and ask some questions. I have a suggested spread below but I encourage you to let your intuition guide you and your cards.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my astrological musings. Please drop any questions in the comments and feel free to share anything that resonates with you.

Appreciating these posts, Lily. Love the notion of "compassionate discipline" as it cuts through all the mental clutter which can block creativity. What's been coming up for me a lot lately, especially in the anxiety around producing, is the concept of play! What parameters do I need to create for myself in order to engage my work or "the work" with joy and pleasure? It really starts with releasing images and expectations for how that--work, the creative process, the product, a given task--"should" look. Connecting with the inner child on all this is where the wisdom lies buried, I think. What flexibility does it require to accommodate the needs of this child, who we can bring to our "work" (whatever it is) everyday, and who enjoys a good focused effort toward a goal as much as he likes to get outside for a walk without a care in the world! Thank you!
