New Moon in Taurus

After the longest April eveeeerrrr (Chiron-Eclipse, Mercury Retrograde, Chiron-Mercury, Chiron-Venus…to name a few moments) we have made it to a moment dripping in honey, scented with lilacs, and filled with potential. Yes, I’m talking about the Taurus New Moon on Tuesday, April 7th at 9:22 pm MST.

This lunation is a beautiful portal for manifesting, intention setting, money magick, and generally fishing our thoughts, dreams and ideas from the astral realm to bring them into the physical world. It’s an opening for ALL of us, but will feel extra potent for people with Taurus, Scorpio, Aquarius and Leo placements between 13-23 degrees.

Taurus is fixed earth energy. It is concerned with the sustainability of your endeavors and of our world. It is the master of the physical realm and seeks to find pleasure in every corner of this life. Whether through deep physical embodiment and enjoyment of living in a body, engagement of any or all of your senses, enjoying a little treat, or truly taking time to stop and smell the flowers and appreciate the earth. IMO, this also extends itself to Taurus energy being the master of manifestation. Opposite of Taurus is Scorpio, who rules the unseen in our lives. Taurus energy supports us in pulling the threads of our dreams + desires from the astral realm that Scorpio oversees into the tangible realm, that Taurus is the master of.

All that to say, this new moon is an absolute manifestation portal.

This New Moon is ruled by Venus, the planet of self-worth, beauty, abundance + finances, our values, and creativity. Venus is currently in her earthy home sign of Taurus, sitting quite close to this New Moon. With Venus’ major impact on this lunation, we may find important answers and clarity around what we would like to call in for ourselves by asking the following questions.

• Where do I need more harmony in my life?

• How can I bring disparate ideas, people, or objects together to harmonize them into something beautiful?

• What are my wildest financial goals?

• What project in my life needs support in sustaining it through to completion?

• What values of mine have shifted since Eclipse Season and what changes do I need to make in my life to support those new values?

• In what ways is my financial situation or my creativity intertwined with my self-worth?

• What is my relationship with my confidence and my sense of personal style?

• Am I surrounded by a community that supports me in my endeavors and makes me feel confident in what I am trekking towards?

• What old narratives am I ready to let go of to call in new levels of abundance, self-worth, or creativity?

  Another important aspect of this New Moon is its correlation with the final meeting of Mercury and Chiron in Aries. Now this is an ongoing story that I went into depth about in this video. This 3-part story began on March 29th, had a nostalgic high point on April 15th, and is now closing out with the New Moon on May 7th. Chiron (info here if you are unfamiliar) and Mercury have been dancing around to weave pieces of our identity wounds together for reflection so we can grow beyond them. What sort of scabs or scars have been brought up (or have you picked at) since March 29th that relate to how you identify as an individual - whether that is past, present, or future you? Within this portal of manifestation, we also find a sense of resolve in what sort of values and worthiness we want to (and need to) embody in this next chapter of our lives.
  
  Lastly, we have Saturn (the planet of discipline + structure) offering a sweet wink at this New Moon and providing us long-term support in the intentions and manifestations we are setting. Saturn is not concerned with getting rich quickly. Instead, his support offers us the chance to plant seeds that will continue to feed us for many years to come.
  
  This is such a juicy gem of a New Moon, my friends! We are dreaming up futures that will support us for the long haul, getting clear on our values, and cleaning out old narratives that are inhibiting us from embodying our future self-concept all while finding more pleasure and harmony in our lives.
  
  

  

  
  
  Magical Planting 🌿 This is a favorite for me when earth signs are involved. Planting season is just beginning so this is an ideal ritual! The concept is simple, get yourself a plant start or seeds or a house plant and plant it! While you a planting it, fill your heart and body with the intention you are setting and imbue it into the soil and plant through your hands. This plant will act as a visual reminder to keep moving toward your intention and will support your magically as you tend to it and water it. For an added later, here are some plants with specific magic affinities. So if you are looking to manifest wealth and abundance, do this ritual with Basil or Chamomile.

• Plant Basil if your intentions include growing wealth, abundance, self-worth or love of any kind. You can also use it to protect whatever it is you are calling in.

• Plant Chamomile if your intentions call for a bit of luck or you are looking to attract money. You can also use it to protect whatever it is you are calling in.

• Plant Mint if your intentions relate to calling in prosperity, breaking generational patterns and curses, or to call on the support of your ancestors.

• Plant Rosemary to call in protection around what you are manifesting or to support you on your healing journey.

• Plant Thyme if your intentions require some added courage or energy to achieve.

• Plant Dill to amplify ANY manifestation! It amplifies the energy of what you desire.

Nature Offerings 🤲🏼 Taurus relates to the earth and the natural world and it’s the season here in the Northern Hemisphere where the earth is coming to life again! If you have a tree or plant on your property or in a nearby park that you love, this is a simple way to solidify your manifestations while asking for support to achieve them. Your offering can be anything from flowers, to herbs, to water, to a sprinkle of tobacco or even just some of your own spit! Sit with the plant or tree and speak ALOUD what it is you are calling into your life. Make an offering as you ask for the support of this earth and the wisdom of the plant you speaking to in your manifestation. Hang out for a bit and LISTEN. What inspiration, advice, or joy does the earth have to offer you?

Tending To Your Body + Affirmations 🌸 Taurus energy is all about enjoying, connecting to and appreciating our bodies. Take a moment to attend to your meat suit by dry brushing, indulging in floral facial steam or lathering yourself in oil. Whatever self-care you choose, speak kindly to yourself and your body, letting your body know you are preparing it to achieve wonderful things in this world. Consider coming up with affirmations that support your manifestations like:

🌸 I am worthy of success and abudanace.
🌸 I trust in my ability to create sustainable security for myself.

Simmer Pot for Creativity ✨ Oranges + Turmeric or Lemon + Lemon Balm
If you are looking to bring a boost of creativity or inspiration OR if you intentions are reliant on your creativity, this one is for you! Simply bring a pot of water to a boil and add in either ORANGES + TURMERIC or LEMONS + LEMON BALM as you ask for your space to be filled with the creative energy you seek. You can also add some of the plant-saturated water to your altar OR drink it like Tea to invoke creativity into your whole being.

Magical Elixir for Abundance 🍵 This is a simple (and delicious) ritual that utilizes items that are probably already in your fridge or pantry. Set a tea kettle on and as you do so, think about the abundance you are looking to bring into your life and feel into your whole being as if you already have it. Hold that feeling as your make a cup of Chamomile tea. Add almond, cashew, or oat Milk and a dash of maple syrup. As you sip on this elixir visualize yourself living in the abundance you are calling in.

Lilac + Bay Leaf Wish Bath 💜 If you’ve been following me for a while you know I love a BATH ritual and spell (Pisces sun, Cancer rising so what can I say!). Where I live, the Lilacs are GOING OFF, and as a flower that is ruled by both Venus and the Moon, I thought this was a perfect new moon ritual. Lilacs support new beginnings and a very high frequency of positive energy (from my experience and also validated by my herbal teachers). It is worth noting here that there is lots of folklore around the bad luck of Lilacs. I do not feel this way in the slightest, but if you do, then this one is not for you! If you have access to Lilacs, pick them first thing in the morning so they are as fragrant as possible. I like to soak my in a bowl of water so any debris or insects fall off before I put them in my bath. Before running your bath, cleanse yourself with smoke, a selenite wand or intentional dry brushing. Draw your bath and add Epsom salts for grounding and protection, sprinkle in Lilacs for positivity and new beginnings, and add a few bay leaves stating your wishes/manifestations/intentions as you drop them in. As you enjoy your bath, visualize your manifestations entering your bloodstream as they soak in through your skin, imbuing your body with all the information it needs to move forward towards your goals with the utmost success.

Honey Beacon 🍯 Take a small dish and add just a spoonful of honey to it. Set it on your altar or somewhere sacred and undisturbed in your home. When you place it, visualize it as a magnet for what you wish to attract into your life under this new moon. After it has sat for a few days, you may use it as a nature offering or you can consume it.

CANCER: This moon is giving major BIBLIOMANCY vibes for you (If you’re like “wth is that?”, here’s the tea - grab a book you love, flip to a random page, see what message you receive. I esp like doing this with poetry or spell books). This lunation lends itself to setting intentions around the type of community you want to engage in, be a part of, or maybe even lead!
