PLUS, Venus Rx is coming...

I’m having a really hard time this week which is why this update is arriving late to your inboxes. I’m trying my best to ride the waves and find joy in my practices - one of which includes sharing updates to support all y’all. I just want you to know that even I don't show up on time every week in these times, I will still show up for you. This is also your reminder and permission slip to give yourself time and grace in these wildly unprecedented times. Mars square Chiron on Monday 2/3 REAAALLLY got me down, out and feeling VERY tender. I watched the Grammy’s and cried my eyes out. When tragedies are being wrongly blamed on DEI, it was beautiful to witness so much joy and art created by so many diverse voices. Thank goddess for mother monster, I’ve listened to Lady Gaga’s new song ABRACADABRA about 1,000 times since it dropped yesterday and it’s the bop we all need right now. Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop Retrogradin’

A few notable things this week that won't be covered in the weekly transits - we are now officially in the Venus Retrograde Pre-Shadow. WTF does that mean? The pre-shadow period is when Venus starts moving through the degrees she'll later retrograde back through - think of it like Venus scoping out the territory she's about to deep dive into. She's highlighting themes and stirring up situations that will become major players during the actual retrograde. (For instance, 2 of my friends ran into their exes within days of Venus entering her shadow on 1/28. The queen of heaven was like "here's a preview of the past connections you'll be reviewing!") This is when we start getting hints about what this retrograde wants us to look at, especially around relationships, values, and how we express ourselves. During the pre-shadow, situations might start feeling a bit... sticky. You might notice old patterns or people resurfacing, or find yourself revisiting past decisions about love, money, or creativity.

And, in case you haven't heard we will be in some sort of retrograde until mid-April. Yep, when Mars goes direct on February 23rd, that's not the end of our stop-and-go energy. On March 1st, Venus will step into her retrograde dance and will be Mercury joining the party on March 15th. 🫠

This Venus retrograde will begin in Aries and make its way back to Pisces - a wild journey from Venus in exile to Venus in exaltation. She'll be descending into the underworld and returning as a morning star. What's extra spicy? This is the same Venus retrograde cycle we had 8 years ago in 2017... the last time Trump had just taken office. Think back to March/April 2017 for some insights into what this cycle may hold for you. I think this period is reminding us of the power of being an absolute loud, pain in the ass to take care of women, femmes, and queer people everywhere.

Here's your Venus Retrograde cheat sheet. The vibes are all about the RE-words bb: reassess, review, reconsider, refresh, rethink, realign + redesign.

• If you have plans to make major changes to your appearance like plastic surgery or a huge hair shift, do this before or after. Making major changes to your looks during Venus rx can lead to disappointment later

• Go through your closet and Marie Kondo that shit. Perfect time for a refresh, but maybe hold off on buying new wardrobe pieces

• You're likely gonna hear from your ex

• It's not the most favorable time to start new relationships or make big commitments like getting married.

• Review your debt

• Return to creative ventures from your past
